Sherri L. Gerland is the founder and President of Floral Marketing International Group. She is also General Partner at FMI Group, LLC, which has been affiliated with LHT Consulting Group for over 15 years. FMI specifically serves the funeral and event planning industries with unique, personalized floral and production designs. With a twenty-year operating history, FMI has become the nation’s largest Sympathy Floral and Event Design Company. Ms. Gerland is a Master Floral Designer and Master Instructor for the company. She is a member of the Society of American Florists, Texas Master Florist Association, National Funeral Directors Association, ICCFA and is active in many charitable organizations.

During her career, Ms. Gerland has held various positions within the floral industry, including International Floral Procurement, Operational Management, Mass Marketing Management, and Product Design Development. With nearly four decades of experience, Ms. Gerland focuses on a Celebration of Life approach to traditional funeral services. This unique perspective personalizes events and has been evolving the traditional funeral service for the past two decades. She first introduced this new vision after the passing of her mother in 1993. It has remained her passion to develop alternatives to past ideas and mindsets of how funerals, and loved ones, will be forever remembered.

Ms. Gerland has produced and published two Signature Floral Design books offered exclusively to Dignity Memorial® funeral homes throughout North America. She also designed and published the company’s first on-line Sympathy Floral Store in 2002, connecting funeral homes to florists for the first time. This permanently changed marketing and ordering systems within both industries.

Ms. Gerland is currently working with many high-profile clients through LHT Consulting Group, and possesses the highest level of confidentiality and respect within her client relationships.

In addition to the Floral Industry, Ms. Gerland handled Public Relations for the Houston Oilers from 1980 to 1984. During this time, she also handled PR for KILT Radio in Houston. Part of her duties included Fund Raising and Public Relations for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Ms. Gerland attended University of Houston and has two children. She currently has residences in both Tampa, FL and Houston, TX.
